Grace Durgin
Volunteer Extraordinaire, lifeline and strong advocate for our homebound seniors. Grace retired from the Sate of Maine and found herself at loose ends. She started delivering meals on wheels to homebound seniors 3 days a week for the Cohen Community Center. She has been delivering meals in the Augusta/Hallowell area for over seven years. She is dedicated and dependable.
Grace has many talents. Not only does she deliver meals, she has been an excellent advocate for seniors.
• She has spoken on many occasions promoting the MOW program.
• She has been a part of a video program produced by the Sate of Maine for employee giving, and also for the local United Way Agency.
• She serves as the chairperson of the Local Advisory Board at the Cohen Center
• On more than one occasion she has been filmed on Spectrum Generations’s Mature Lifestyle television program to advocate volunteerism.
As a volunteer Grace is always there when you need her. And as an individual Grace is always there for others who need her. She is a star among our volunteers.
