Adult DayBreak Coordinator: 40 hrs/wk Waldo Community Center, Belfst:
The Coordinator develops and implements program activities, supervises program and volunteer staff in an Adult DayBreak (ADB) Program site.
The goal of the ADB Program is to offer high quality, stimulating, purposeful and therapeutic activities designed to assist adults with physical and/or cognitive impairments to remain as active in their communities as possible by maximizing their level of health and independence and promoting their optimal functioning.
This ADB program provides a safe, supportive environment where approximately 25 participants a day attend at the Community Center. They receive a range of professional health, social and therapeutic services. The program also provides respite, support and education to families and caregivers.
The incumbent provides day-to-day supervision and works with staff to ensure a high performance, customer service oriented therapeutic environment which supports achieving the program's and Spectrum Generations' mission, strategic plan and objectives.
Job Requirements:
- Basic knowledge of personnel management as it relates to the selection, supervision, work schedules, motivation, preparing performance evaluations and employee recognition and discipline.
- Ability to learn and comply with licensing regulations and accreditation standards.
- Skill making independent judgments and decisions about a course of action to be taken within established laws, rules, policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Knowledge and ability to apply the principles of safe work practices.
- Ability to prioritize and organize varied tasks and meet deadlines in a timely manner.
- Proven ability in collecting assessment data, identifying problems, identifying expected outcomes, developing plan of care, implementing actions and evaluating whether or not expected outcomes have been achieved.
- Proven expertise in relating to frail seniors, adults with disabilities and their families
- Ability to communicating orally and in writing with a variety of people.
- Ability to write legibly and clearly for records and reports.
- Creativity and ingenuity in designing therapeutic activity programs to meet a variety of consumer physical, emotional and social needs.
- Ability to enter data accurately and expeditiously into electronic data base.
- Ability to promote and market the program
- Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a diverse group of people in order to provide quality customer service.
Education Requirements:
- AA or AS in Social Services or equivalent.
- BA degree preferred.
- 1-3 years experience in geriatric setting, including supervisory experience.
- Possession of a valid Maine State RN/LPN License or 40 hr CRMA certificate.
- Maintain valid CPR, First Aid certification
- DSP (Direct Support Professional)
- Passing score on Spectrum Generations Level II computer test (e-mail, basic Word, basic navigation of web for research, and entry into preset Excel spreadsheet.)
