Cohen & Muskie Center Partner for Outdoor Adventures with Kayaking & Canoeing
The focus this year is “Working together for Strong, Healthy and Supportive Communities.” In honor of May being Older American’s Month we are offering you the chance to do something you may have always dreamed of doing and just have not had the opportunity! Learn how to canoe and kayak with the Cohen and Muskie Centers and Dan Albert (pictured above), a Registered Maine Guide and owner of Farmingdale Kayak & Canoe.
All equipment needed and free instruction will be given to make sure you have the essential skills to paddle safely for a day's fun on the water. Join us on Monday, May 19 from 10:00AM to 2:00PM at Hallowell Recreation Park located just up the road from the Cohen Center. Other activities include walking in the park or on the nature trail around the pond.
A picnic lunch and healthy snacks will be provided.
Older American’s Month is a celebration of the contributions our older citizens have made to society and a chance for communities to give back and recognize the accomplishments of their elders. It is also a time to promote aging actively and encourage everyone, regardless of age, to live life to the fullest.
This is a FREE event from the Cohen Center and there is a $4.00 transportation fee for the Muskie Center; as always, donations are greatly appreciated. Registration is required. Sign up today for this great outdoor adventure! Rain date is May 28.
