Mayors for Meals Day 2010

Spectrum Generations is announcing Wednesday, March 24th, as “Mayors for Meals Day”, a regular part of the annual “March for Meals” campaign observed across the nation.   Town leaders from area communities will show their support  by delivering meals to home bound seniors along with the Meals on Wheels volunteers. 

Spectrum Generations' “Mayors for Meals Day” provides town officials with the opportunity to assist with meal deliveries in their towns, to greet volunteer drivers or to help sort and pack meals at our centers throughout central Maine.   

The Meals on Wheels program provides area seniors with hot, nutritionally-balanced meals delivered by dedicated volunteers.  This regular interaction also provides an opportunity to “check in” with these homebound seniors and handicapped people as a safety measure.
