Mapping out needed services in Brunswick-Harpswell-Topsham and Sagadahoc County

(MidCoast Area – July 17, 2009) Spectrum Generations, an independent not-for-profit organization, is conducting a survey to learn how it can better serve the citizens in Sagadahoc County, Brunswick, Harpswell, and the Topsham area. Spectrum Generations, the Area Agency on Aging in Central and MidCoast Maine as established by the Older Americans Act, has been the leading source of information and advice, referrals, programs and activities for older adults, adults with disabilities and adults caring for others in Central and MidCoast Maine for 35 years. Through our seven community and resource centers covering six counties, Spectrum Generations offers support and promotes wellness, activities, trips, dining and life-long learning opportunities.

If you are an older adult, an adult of any age with special needs, are caring for someone older, or are a grandparent caring for a child, we would like to know more about yourself and what you would like to see that would make your life more enjoyable and productive and/or aid you as a caregiver.

Information such as: What is your overall health? If you are a caregiver, would you be interested in respite relief? Would you be likely, somewhat likely, or not likely to participate in a program to learn how to get and stay healthy? If you are homebound, would you like to have a meal delivered to your door?

Surveys will be distributed in the Coastal Journal on July 23, and also located in local businesses and libraries. Spectrum Generations invites the residents of Brunswick, Harpswell, Topsham and Sagadahoc County to take the time to assist us in determining the needs of the residents in this area.

More information about Spectrum Generations and its seven community centers is available by calling 1-800-639-1553 or online at www.spectrumgenerations.org
