Spectrum Generations celebrated the annual “Mayors for Meals” campaign observed in Maine, and across the nation on Wednesday, March 24th. Town leaders from area communities, including Hallowell’s Mayor, Charlotte Warren, Manchester’s Treasurer and Selectman, Darlene Beaulieu and Jeremy Pare, Augusta’s Mayor, Roger Katz, Gardiner’s Mayor, Andrew MacLean as well as First Lady, Karen Baldacci and Blaine House representative, Mary Gates participated in the event. The group packed and delivered meals to show their support and raise awareness of the nutritional needs of homebound seniors. Spectrum Generations’ Meals on Wheels program provides area seniors with nutritionally-balanced meals delivered to their home by our dedicated volunteers. This regular interaction also provides an opportunity to “check in” with the senior as a safety measure. For more information about volunteering for or participating in the Spectrum Generations Meals on Wheels program, call Lynda Johnson at 626-7777 or email at ljohnson@spectrumgeneration.org. Spectrum Generations, serving central Maine adults from the state line to the coast line, helps people live their best lives by fostering independence and promoting a healthy lifestyle.
