This months panel of guests includes two experts from Maine Legal Services for the Elderly (LSE). LSE provides persons 60+ with free legal advice regarding health care, health insurance, Medicare, MaineCare, Social Security, pension and retirement benefits, powers of attorney, consumer matters including creditor and bankruptcy problems, physical and financial abuse, and guardianship defense. Jaye Martin, Executive Director of Legal Services for the Elderly will discuss the the new Consumer Debt Unit recently opened to help Maine seniors. Staff Attorney Dennis Culley explains how LSE assists seniors with the aftermath of financial exploitation of the elderly, and foreclosure defense work. Both are true advocates for Maine seniors.

Our third expert is Pat Greenleaf, Certified Care Manager and Money Management Coordinator for Spectrum Generations. The Money Management Program provides trained and bonded volunteers to; assist with balancing checkbooks, writing checks for clients to sign, organizing the mail, and help with developing a budget. Pat is dedicated to safeguarding against scams and exploitation.
