Area seniors in need of Meals on Wheels volunteers

Did you know that just a few hours of your time, once or twice a week, can help seniors remain healthy and independent in their homes? Spectrum Generations is seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors and disabled adults.

Drivers are needed to assist with coverage of the following Meals on Wheels routes:

Cohen Community Center in Hallowell

  • Drivers: Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals
  • Packer Days: Mondays, Tuesdays, & Thursdays, from 7:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m.
  • Deliver to: Augusta, Chelsea, Fayette, Gardiner, Hallowell, Manchester, Monmouth, Mount Vernon, Pittston, Randolph, Readfield, Wayne, Windsor, & Winthrop.

Lincoln County Regional Center in Damariscotta

  • Drivers: Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Waldoboro and Wiscasset.

Mid-Coast Regional Center in Brunswick

  • Drivers: Wednesdays and/or Fridays
  • Deliver to: Bath, Bowdoinham, Brunswick, Harpswell, Phippsburg, Richmond, & Woolwich

Muskie Community Center in Waterville

  • Drivers: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Packer Days: M-F from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
  • Deliver to: Albion/Benton, Fairfield, Oakland, Vassalboro/China, Waterville, and Winslow.

Somerset Community Center in Skowhegan

  • Driver Days: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Hartland/St. Albans, Madison, Norridgewock, Pittsfield, Skowhegan, & Solon/Embden

Waldo Community Center in Belfast

  • Drivers: Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals
  • Deliver to: Belfast, Brooks, Lincolnville, Searsmont, Searsport, & Unity areas.

Total time commitment is only 2 to 3 hours per day and drivers are reimbursed for mileage.

Requirements for Drivers:

  • Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proof of Insurance
  • Valid Vehicle Registration

Business groups, individuals, families, and college students are encouraged to apply to volunteer. Applications for back-up drivers to fill in as-needed are always welcome.
