Our History

Bridges Home Care was started in 1996 under the name Senior Connections and provided Home Health Care and Nursing services for a fee.  In 2003, the name was changed to Bridges and the company merged with Spectrum Generations, then Senior Spectrum.  At this time, Bridges decided to focus on personal care services, moving away from the medical model and more towards a consumer-directed model.   In 2010, Kristin Overton was named as Bridges Director after having worked in various capacities at Bridges since 2006.  In 2012, Bridges modified its name to Bridges Home Care and added the tagline, For the Best in Help at Home.  In February of 2013, we celebrated the opening of a second office at 58 Elm Street in Waterville.
