DIRECTOR, MAINE CENTER ON AGING

Keynote Speaker, Lenard Kaye, Director of the Maine Center on Aging at the University of Maine will be discussing the challenges of aging in Maine, present realities and future prospects. Lenard W. Kaye is a professor at the University of Maine School of Social Work. He is a member of the Maine chapter of the national Scholars Strategy Network, which brings together scholars across the country to address public challenges and their policy implications. Kaye has been the principal investigator for numerous assessments of innovative community service for older adults. In an opinion piece published by the Bangor Daily News about whether or not Maine can keep its aging population safe, Kaye stated "Amid our well-intentioned efforts to focus on the opportunities and promises that emerge from an aging Maine, we must not lose sight of the growing numbers of vulnerable elders who will need a variety of specialized services, including emergency transitional services designed to meet the unique needs of an aging populace".

Join Spectrum Generations, local experts, and Dr. Kaye on September 17th, 8:30AM-3:00PM as we discuss the role each of us plays in meeting our own needs as we age as well as the needs of our peers, neighbors and family members.
