Volunteer Spotlight: Christopher & Olivia
Christopher and his friend and support, Olivia, have been delivering Meals on Wheels at the Muskie Center for 10 years. “I help people who can’t get out,” he said. It is nice to show people that someone cares, Olivia added. There’s not a lot of that out there right now. Christopher says he also enjoys the food that is served at the Muskie Center and reminds us that tomorrow is spaghetti and meatballs day.

Volunteer Spotlight: Misty & Jason
Misty Bailey works with New Communities Venture Program supporting Jason Brown, a Meals on Wheels volunteer. Jason, now in his fourth year, said his favorite part of volunteering is talking to all the people. “He absolutely loves it,” Misty said. They also make sure all people on their route are doing OK. The two ran across a lady who had run out of fuel in winter and were able to secure an emergency fuel delivery for her.

Volunteer Spotlight: Andrei Strukov
Andrei Strukov has been a Meals on Wheels volunteer driver for two years and says he loves the social aspect of his role. The reason behind why he became a volunteer driver is interesting to say the least.
