Augusta Knights of Columbus Makes Donation to Spectrum Generations Cohen Adult DayBreak Program

Every year the Knights of Columbus throughout the state of Maine host “Tootsie Roll” fundraisers to benefit charitable organizations in support of the mentally handicapped. The individual councils determine the charities to receive the money raised. David Alexander, Grand Knight of the Father John Anderson Council #11543 of St. Michael Parish in Augusta, donated part of the proceeds to Spectrum Generations Cohen Center Adult DayBreak Program in Hallowell.
Spectrum Generations adult day programs are affordable and provide caring and safe day time care for adults with disabilities, Alzheimer’s or dementia, and other needs. The programs operate at our community centers in Hallowell, Waterville, Skowhegan and Belfast.
“We are so thankful for this donation. With this check we are almost 50% towards our goal of purchasing a flat screen TV and Wii bundle. Through donations we have already been able to make these purchases at our adult day programs in Waterville and Belfast,” said Susan Garascia, Spectrum Generations Community Services Administrator “The clients enjoy the Wii so much. It is social, fun and gets us all moving! ”
