Molina Medicaid Solutions Recognizes Cohen Community Center Volunteer at its Third Annual Community Champions Awards Ceremony (October 3, 2014)  Molina Medicaid Solutions of Maine recently celebrated the good deeds of one very special leader in the community at its third annual Community Champions Awards Ceremony. Spectrum Generations Receives Community Health Worker Grant  (August 2014) Spectrum Generations, central Maine’s Area Agency on Aging (AAA) and Aging and Disability Resource Center (ADRC), in collaboration with Seniors Plus, western Maine’s AAA and ADRC, was one of four from a diverse group of organizations to be awarded the Community Health Worker Pilot Project Grant (CHWPP) through the Maine Centers for Disease Control (CDC).  Read more...

Spectrum Generations Coastal and Cohen Centers Receive Grants from Banfield Charitable Trust for Ani-Meals Program. (August 2014) Spectrum Generations AniMeals on Wheels program was founded so that home-bound seniors and disabled individuals in Central Maine would not feel compelled to share their limited food and resources with their four-legged friends.  Read more...

Spectrum Generations Receives Support from Maine Credit Unions to End Senior Hunger  (May 2014) Spectrum Generations and its four sister Area Agencies on Aging across Maine received $300 from the Maine Credit Union’s Campaign for Ending Ender for their Meals on Wheels programs to “help end senior hunger.”   Read more...

 

Spectrum Generations Cohen Center Receives $1,000 grant from the Darden Restaurants Foundation  (April 28, 2014)  This grant will help enable Spectrum Generations to deliver nutritious meals to approximately 200 homebound and disabled adults in the central Maine area, which covers southern Kennebec, Lincoln, and Sagadahoc Counties as well as Brunswick and Harpswell.   Read more...

 
Marcia Cooper Receives the Lewis and Clara Lamont Brain Injury Advocacy Award.  (March 28, 2014)  Richard Brown, Co-chair of the Acquired Brain Injury Advisory Council of Maine and CEO of the Charlotte White Center, and Lewis Lamont, presented the Lewis and Clar Lamont Brain Injury Award to Ms. Cooper recognizing her “for more than 20 years of service, advocacy, and pure compassion for people with brain injury and their families in Maine”.   Read more...

Spectrum Generations Receives Aging Innovations Award from the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) (July 30, 2013 - Louisville, KY) Spectrum Generations received an Aging Innovations Award from the National Association of Area Agencies on Aging (n4a) during the n4a Annual Conference & Tradeshow, July 28-31, 2013, in Louisville, KY for its We Sustain Maine Senior Nutrition Program created to provide higher quality, more nutritious meals for homebound and disabled adults who live in rural Maine and dine in its community centers.  Read more...

 

State Farm awards Spectrum Generations $5,000 grant  (September 25, 2013)  With the help of a grant from State Farm, Spectrum Generations is now able to provide Home Safety Emergency Plan Prep Guides to central Maine’s older and disabled adults to assist them with being better prepared for potential emergencies or natural disasters.  Read more...
