Volunteer Drivers Needed for Meals on Wheels

Area seniors in need of Meals on Wheels volunteers

Did you know that just a few hours of your time, once or twice a week, can help seniors remain healthy and independent in their homes? Spectrum Generations is seeking volunteers to deliver Meals on Wheels to homebound seniors and disabled adults.

Drivers are needed to assist with coverage of the following Meals on Wheels routes:

Out of our Somerset Community Center in Skowhegan, drivers are needed on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals in Skowhegan, Hartland/St. Albans, Solon/Embden, Pittsfield, Madison, and Norridgewock.  Contact Ashley at 660-9253 or [email protected] to volunteer.

Out of our Muskie Community Center in Waterville, drivers are needed on Tuesday and/or Thursdays to deliver meals in Benton/Albion, Fairfield, Oakland, Waterville, Vassalboro/China, and Winslow. Contact Angela at 660-9263 or [email protected] to volunteer.

Out of our Cohen Community Center in Hallowell drivers are needed on Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals in Augusta, Gardiner, Chelsea, Hallowell, Mount Vernon, Winthrop, Readfield, Monmouth, Fayette,  Windsor, Manchester, Wayne, Pittston, and Randolph. Out of our Coastal Community Center in Damariscotta drivers are needed on Wednesdays and/or Fridays to deliver meals in Waldoboro and Wiscasset. Contact Kellie at 790-6022 or [email protected] to volunteer.

Out of our Waldo Community Center in Belfast drivers are needed on Tuesdays and/or Thursdays to deliver meals in the Lincolnville, Unity, Searsmont, Searsport, Brooks, and Belfast areas. Contact Allison at 930-8080 or [email protected] to volunteer.

Total time commitment is only 2 to 3 hours per day and drivers are reimbursed for mileage. Must have the ability to lift 25 pounds and a valid driver’s license. Business groups, individuals, families, and college students gladly welcomed to volunteer. Applications for back-up drivers to fill in as-needed are always accepted.
